Book design for the short story “The Lottery” by Shirley Jackson. The book is set in minion pro and printed on an off-white mohawk #70 stock. Using the image of the ballot slip I made a title mark for the book and crafted the cover in the image of the ballot box from the story. It is heavily illustrated, bound with a latch and metal hinges, and weathered to reflect the source material.
